of the emigrants and passengers who may embark on every vessel leaving for
Mexico.
Each name will be preceded by its corresponding serial number
and will be noted as briefly as possible with the result of the medical
inspection. A copy of this list will be delivered to the Captain of the
ship in order that it may serve him as a certificate in the Mexican port of
destination, for the purposes of Art. 49 of the Sanitary Code.
8.
The Delegate shall reside and carry out his duties, generally
speaking in Hong Kong, but he shall proceed to other Asiatic ports whenever
so ordered by the Supreme Board of Health or whenever requested by any
Company or other person who has to dispatch emigrants to Mexico.

NOTE.
VESSELS.
Art. 5. empowers the Delegate not to authorize the shipment of
passengers suffering from the enumerated diseases, but that should such
persons embark, as according to Art. 6, the vessel will be subjected to
the restrictions and quarantines imposed by Mexican laws on INFECTED
And according to the Maritime Sanitary Regulations of Mexico
the prophylactic measures provided for INFECTED VESSELS are,
Landing of sick pe rsons and their isolation, the rest of the passengers
remaining on board under observation for a period of ten days (if plague)
Disinfection of that part of ship infected as well as soiled clothes and
articles in use of passengers and crew, and after period of quarantine if
no new cases appear then practique will be granted. No mention whatever
of rejection.
